The far-left identitarians seem to be getting more and more racist and anti-Semitic by the day, and they don’t seem to be all that bashful about it. In fact, the mayor of one of the country’s major cities has written a letter to the media in which she states that she is deliberately going to discriminate against white reporters — in particular, white male reporters.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot took a break from ignoring the crime problem plaguing her city in order to write a two-page, tone-deaf letter to local media about how she plans to celebrate the two-year anniversary of her taking office in the Second City.

Only a hardcore leftist could display this much ignorance and ego at the same time.

In the letter, Lightfoot writes that she will only grant interviews to commemorate the anniversary to “journalists of color,” while complaining that “the group of reporters assigned to cover City Hall is practically all white.”

Of course, Lightfoot made that claim after claiming that Chicago is diverse by having very few white people in positions of power within the city’s government.

“In the year 2021, with a Black, lesbian Mayor, a Black woman City Treasurer, a Latinx woman City Clerk and a majority Black and Latinx City Council, the group of reporters assigned to cover City Hall is practically all white,” Lightfoot wrote.

At no point does Lightfoot speak of any actual accomplishments the city’s government has made, because there are very few things they’ve done to benefit the city. No, Lightfoot is more concerned with the skin color of the people occupying those spots instead of the work they may or may not be doing.

I’m not going to bore all of you too much with Lightfoot’s overt virtue-signaling, but I will report one of her last statements in which she says that if there’s a white reporter covering City Hall, that the white reporter have a person of color watching over them.

“At the two-year anniversary of my inauguration, I am issuing a challenge to you,” Lightfoot wrote. “Hire reporters of color — and especially women of color — to cover Chicago politics, and City Hall in particular. If you only have a white reporter covering City Hall, make sure there’s a person of color working with them as well.”

Overt racism and discrimination from the mayor of one the nation’s largest cities.

One of the possible motives for Lightfoot wanting the perception of the “diversity” of reporters covering City Hall to change is that because Lightfoot is such an awful public servant, she might think that reporters of color would give her more favorable coverage.

That possibility, in and of itself, is racist. Looks like it’s just par for the course for a far-left politician.
