Jon Stewart Mocks Media Coverage of Caitlyn Jenner’s Sex Appeal

During Tuesday night’s The Daily Show, talk show host Jon Stewart mocked the media's coverage of Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair debut.

He slammed commentators for “treating her like a woman” by focusing mostly on Caitlyn's looks and sex appeal.

“We all know the media,” Stewart began. “They’re awful.”

“It’s really heartening to see that everyone is willing to not only to see Caitlyn Jenner as a woman, but to waste no time in treating her like a woman,” he said.

“Caitlyn, when you were a man we could talk about your athleticism, your business acumen,” he went on.

“Now you’re a woman, and your looks are the only thing we care about."

Stewart then ripped into the media for focusing on what he calls "comparative f—ability."

He noted how commentators are making debasing comparisons between Caitlyn Jenner, the Olympian formerly known as Bruce, and the Kardashian women—including his stepdaughter Kim and his ex-wife Kris.

“Look,” he said, “we want to give a woman a compliment here. We just need to make sure another woman gets taken down a peg in the process. It’s how we maintain the balance.”
