Washington State's athletic organizations appear strongly committed to forcing women to compete against men in sports.

On Monday, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) revealed that a measure to protect women's sports, which would have mandated participating athletes participate on sports teams according to their biological gender, failed to pass by a single vote. It needed 60 percent of the votes to pass, and it got 31 votes in favor (22 opposed it).

The proposal, Amendment No. 7, still would not have become state law, since Washington state continues to allow men to compete in women’s sports (gosh I hate the Left Coast). It was simply an advisory amendment that would have limited female participation in WIAA-governed sports to “biological females.”

A similar proposal, Amendment No. 8, would have restructured boys' teams as an “Open” category, allowing trans athletes to participate. That proposal fell far short of the 60 percent needed to pass (only 13 of 53 votes were in favor).

According to the Cascadia Daily, “The Lynden school board proposed the idea of only those born female participating in girls' sports. That proposal, the Cascadia Daily says, also would have made the boys division an 'open' category.”

"It is clear to our girl athletes that competing against other athletes who have gone through male puberty is unfair," Lynden superintendent David VanderYacht said. "They asked us to address it, and the Lynden School Board is attempting to do so in a manner that respects and honors the dignity of all students."

Evidently, they seem to be the only ones who care about keeping sports fair for women.
