Tim Tebow and his foundation joined forces with a group of veteran commandos from the nonprofit Sentinel Foundation to rescue 59 children from the poverty-stricken country of Haiti.

In addition to the team of operatives, the Tim Tebow Foundation worked with a large number of organizations, including the Mission of Hope, HaitiOne and the Anti-Trafficking Bureau from the Dominican Republic. He thanked them all in a post on X, and also expressed his gratitude for the result: nearly 60 children with disabilities rescued from a nation in turmoil.

He also asked that people would be praying for the recovery of the children as they find new homes in Jamaica.

“Please join me in prayer for these precious image-bearers and that they are able to experience safety, hope, and healing! So grateful. Only God!,” Tebow said on X.

The mission came on the heels of Rep. Cory Mills’ (R-FL) calls to stage more rescue missions from Haiti. Currently, the country has seen a massive surge in violence after gangs freed all criminals from the nation’s two largest prisons earlier this month. Additionally, Prime Minister Ariel Henry resigned from office, adding to the instability.

So when Tebow and these organizations stepped in, Mills was happy to offer them his support.

"I'm always happy to offer my support and resources to groups like this; they're not just allies, they're brothers," Mills said of his cooperation with the foundations. "Their mission to bring vulnerable people home is one I wholeheartedly endorse."

The team was unable to do any practice runs for this operation due to how fluid the situation in Haiti is.

"I would say that we had absolutely zero dry runs done, and we have guys that are trained that do this on a regular basis, or have done in the military, or at least open up on what we need them to be spun up on, whether it be swimming, medical or just general operators," a Sentinel member named TJ told Fox News Digital.

TJ further added that while this trip yielded good results, there’s still more work to do.

"We were able to successfully evacuate 59 of those 30,000 kids. Of those 30,000, not all those kids have somewhere to go, and not all those kids have special needs, or are high risk," he said. "We picked the most high-risk children that we could, that had the most likely chance of success and went with it, because I'd rather rescue some than none."
