Do you remember the days when sports used to bring us together and not be a point of contention? Apparently, those days aren’t completely over.
Yesterday, the North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons were facing off in Raleigh, NC in an ACC college football matchup. Just 200 miles away, thousands of people in communities in rural North Carolina are still dealing with the devastation of Hurricane Helene. The contrast between the victims' situation and the those gathered to watch football on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon could not have been more stark.
However, the marching bands for both teams decided to take a moment before the game to show support for their fellow statesmen who are suffering. Uniting together as one source of beautiful music, the bands played “Amazing Grace” in front of thousands of fans gathered at Carter-Finley Stadium.
And man, was it beautiful.

Gosh, that fills my heart with joy. Sports have often become a place of more than just entertainment; they have become a space that progressives use to push the woke worldview. Very rarely do we get moments where sports become the catalyst of spreading a unifying message, much less an overtly Christian one.
And yet, both of these schools took the time to glorify the one, true God for the world to see, all while showing support for hurricane victims who've lost everything, and are still in desperate need of help and support.
NC State and Wake Forest should feel incredibly proud of what they’ve done.
