Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been carrying out President Trump’s policy to deport as many illegal immigrants as possible. Los Angeles Dodgers utility player Kike Hernández doesn’t like that.

Hernández saw all the chaos that unfolded in L.A. as a result of the immigration crackdown. Instead of blaming the protestors who harassed cops and burned down the city (or the illegals for being here in the first place), he blamed the chaos on ICE for trying to keep America safe.

"Los Angeles and Dodger fans have welcomed me, supported me, and shown me nothing but kindness and love,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is my second home. And I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused, and ripped apart. ALL people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and human rights."

(Hernández is originally from Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, and doesn't have to fear deportation.)

It’s funny how, whether through statements from athletes or biased media coverage, his narrative is that these people are victims.

While I understand that not all people come here with bad intentions, the fact of the matter is that if you’re illegal, you have no right to be here. Reframing the truth and advocating for non-citizens over actual Americans is disgusting.

Hernández needs to understand that the tide is shifting in America, and that we are no longer tolerating a foreign invasion disguised as an immigration crisis. If he doesn’t like that, it’s going to be a tough four years for him.
