If you watched the NFL news cycle at all this past weekend, you probably saw that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill got arrested on his way to Hard Rock Stadium to play a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
He was initially pulled over by Miami-Dade police (MDPD) because he was speeding, and was arrested because he was confrontational and uncooperative with the officers - who were Hispanic, by the way - that pulled them over. The MDPD released 105 minutes of bodycam footage from the incident, and the following clips show the portion where Tyreek was originally pulled over and then put in cuffs.
Here's Hill speeding by:
This will be a thread of the available video. This first video shows Tyreek Hill driving near Hard Rock Stadium. Can't tell how fast he's going but it shows the first interaction with police. pic.twitter.com/SkF9I5MQrp

And here's the arrest:
Next video shows the interaction from when the officer approaches Tyreek Hill's car until his detainment. It sounds as though Hill called his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, while in the car get before being pulled from his car pic.twitter.com/XytuySDPag

There's 105 minutes of footage that deals with other details (such as Hill's teammate Calais Campbell getting arrested as well), but these two video are the ones in focus for now.

Make of that you will. I’m personally of the opinion that the vast majority of blame for how this situation panned out falls on Hill’s shoulders. Could the cops have handled it a little better? In a perfect world, maybe. But they’re human, and they had to deal with a man who was highly disrespectful toward them and was in the wrong for speeding.
But that’s not what race baiting reporter and author Jemele Hill believes. She is of the persuasion that not only were the cops wrong to arrest the wide receiver, but she made the audacious and ridiculous claim that we will see more supposedly unwarranted arrests of Black people in this country if Donald Trump is elected president. Furthermore, she threw Dolphins owner Stephen Ross under the bus because he has supported Trump in the past.
A reminder that Stephen Ross, owner of the Miami Dolphins, is a huge Donald Trump supporter — the same Trump who supports giving ALL police immunity from prosecution. Do with that what you will.

Leave it to Jemele to use race and her hatred for Trump as the starting point for a completely unfounded argument.
In April, Trump said that he would look to empower police officers with blanket protection in life-or-death situations if he were elected president. That’s frankly a good thing, given how public perception of police officers has changed for the worse over the past four years. But obviously Jemele doesn’t like that, since in her mind, all cops are out to get Black people.
However, that has nothing to do with this situation at all. Again, Tyreek Hill was completely in the wrong, and largely brought this experience upon himself after he broke the law.
But still, Jemele was firm in her belief that the cops overreacted.
For all those who don’t understand this, having an attitude with the police or being irritated is not an excuse for the police to drag you from your car, aggressively handcuff you, and then threaten other citizens (Calais Campbell).

Totally unprofessional and unacceptable… https://t.co/TiSVzjvd7e
Ignoring Tyreek’s part of the situation and using what she saw as a way to blame Donald Trump for a rise in police brutality that hasn’t happened yet is a perfectly Jemele Hill thing to do.
