Fossils. Seems we just can’t get rid of them. No matter where Americans tread, they keep popping up. We have to step around the dinosaur “news” media. We have to circumvent the ruinous old political concept of collectivism and the politicians who push those it. And we have to watch out for zombie-like figures promoting the threadbare scaremongering of “Anthropogenic Climate Change”, even as they use that bogeyman to promote, yeah, you got it, move collectivism. So is it any surprise that one of those political relics should use the moribund political cliché “put them in jail” when asked about fossil fuel execs – even as he overlooks the fact that his son made big bucks as one off them?

If the relic is Joe Biden, the answer is, no, it’s no surprise.

According to the DailyMail.com while at a “town hall meeting” (said title having been suborned and overused by dinosaur media and media-savvy leftists for decades), Smokin’ Joe wandered into a barb-laden, ten minute monologue about the horrors and certainty of “Anthropogenic Climate Change”:

'If we don't stop using fossil fuels–' one audience member started in a question to Biden on Sunday. 'We're all dead,' Biden finished into the microphone.

But, thank, goodness, he and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are ready to hit Omaha Beach and fight this, “our World War Two”, as AOC so infamously said. And Biden has a big, authoritarian, fascistic plan to handle that – even though he cites no evidence that the planet is warming due to man-made carbon emissions. His idea?

'We have to set sort of guide rails down now, so between the years 2021 and 2030, it's irreversible – the path we set ourselves on. And one of which is doing away with any substance for fossil fuels – number one,' Biden said.

In other words, Biden is using the soft language of most US politicians who promote economic fascism: you will be allowed to own your business in name only, while the politicians tell you how to run it, while they “set sort of guide rails down.”

Then there’s the kicker, which not only shows how far Biden buys into the scaremongering of the Climate Cult – or how much he hopes the left-wing Peterborough, NH crowd buys into it – but also how willing he is to employ even more tricky tactics and the jack-booted force of the state to demonize people and crush industry.

'Number two, holding them liable for what they have done,' he said of fossil fuel executives, 'particularly in those cases where your underserved neighborhoods and – you know the deal, ok. And by the way, when they don't want to deliver, put them in jail. I'm not joking about this.'

We’ll get to his son in a moment.

Before that, it’s useful to note that, like most contemporary leftists, Biden is far too willing to replace real tort law with a pseudo, state-based concept of “finding people liable”, attacking them with the force of the government, and then raking in billions that will go to the coffers of… the government.

Liability is supposed to be reserved for person-on-person tortious injury, and since the state is not a person, it cannot claim injury. Any funds it receives in its Bideneqsue “liability” suits rarely, if ever, find their way to real individuals, but, instead, are fed to the government, which grows stronger and metastasizes with each new “liability” suit. This has been described and explained with exceptional clarity by Eric Helland and Alex Tabarrok in their book, “Judge and Jury: American Tort Law on Trial”, but one suspects Mr. Biden has been too busy telling members of the Council on Foreign Relations about his Ukrainian gamesmanship to bother reading it.

Or perhaps he was so caught up in the moment that he forgot inform his audience that a “liability” suit from the government is counter to centuries of tort law tradition. Goodness knows, he appears to have forgotten that his desire to thrown fossil fuel execs in jail would see his son, Hunter, rounded up for his strange, five-year, beaucoup bucks engagement with Burisma Holdings, the largest energy corporation in Ukraine.

There’s something unnerving about seeing a guy evidently become so caught up pandering to a crowd that he’s not only willing to avoid providing scientific evidence to support his threats against energy company executives, but he’s also willing to overlook that his own son was one such exec.

Or perhaps he knows that his son will be protected and emerge unscathed.

For some reason, Biden and many other politicians operate under the “do as I say, not as I do” motto, so it’s likely that his son would not be at risk in any way.

But others would be, and so will our wallets, if Joe’s off-the-cuff remarks ever turn into policy.
