The whole “Biden is a devout Catholic” narrative is utter rubbish, but it is a neat cop out for his team.
According to Dailywire.com, White House press secretary Jen Psaki evaded a question concerning Joe Biden’s abortion plans during her first briefing Wednesday. Instead, she emphasized what a “devout Catholic” he was.
Owen Jensen, who works for EWTN Global Catholic Network, asked Psaki what Biden was “planning on doing,” with the Hyde Amendment and Mexico City Policy. The former prohibits federal tax dollars from being used to cover elective abortions, the latter prohibits foreign organizations from providing abortions as long as they accept U.S. funds.
In response to Jensen’s question, Psaki said, “Well, I think we’ll have more to say on the Mexico City policy in the coming days, but I will just take the opportunity to remind all of you that he is a devout Catholic and somebody who attends church regularly. He started his day attending church with his family this morning, but I don’t have anything more for you on that.”
Biden is in fact planning to increase access to abortion. His campaign website even details how he’ll revoke the Mexico City Policy and allow Planned Parenthood to receive federal funds again.
Psaki’s only given one briefing under Biden so far, but she’s already avoiding answering questions.
It doesn’t take common sense to know that devout Catholics, and good people regardless of their religion, do not support the murder of infants.
