If you look at the Chicago weekend shooting numbers from this past weekend and the weekend before, sure, the numbers are down from the previous couple of months. But, if you think 40 people being shot in a weekend is a net positive for a city, you must be Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. And now you have to worry about rioters causing intentional unrest masquerading as the unicorn-like “peaceful protesters” that the radical media is always covering for and talking about.

At least four people were murdered and another 36 were wounded in weekend shootings across the Chicagoland area. The total number of shooting victims is up slightly from the previous weekend, which saw at least nine people killed and another 25 wounded.

Here are the names of those who died over the weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times:

Unidentified Male, 22

Kourtney William, 31

Keith Richmond, 29

Hugo Tecomateco, 20

As for the year-to-date numbers on weekend shooting victims, Chicago is now up to at least 196 people dead and 991 people wounded. The Chicago Tribune shooting tracker, which keeps track of all Chicago shooting victims regardless of the day of the week, hasn’t been updated since last week. But as a reminder, the Tribune’s numbers reported that 2,249 people had been shot, as of July 29. That is 695 more than the same point in 2019, and the second highest since 2012.

It was bad enough that Chicago police had to deal with skyrocketing shooting numbers with little help from the “community organizers” that run the city. Now they have to deal with rising instances of activist rioting that has plagued other cities around the nation.
