Indiana Pizzeria Hounded Out of Business Receives Over $500k in One Day

Memories Pizza, the family-owned Christian business that was hounded out of business due to its stance on gay marriage, has received over half a million dollars in donations in one day from people across the country.

I reported yesterday:

Two days ago, the proprietor of Indiana family-owned Memories Pizza told a local reporter that they would not cater a gay wedding. Less than two days later, TMZ reports the family-owned pizza parlor has had to close due to the ensuing backlash and an avalanche of threats.

Memories Pizza owner Kevin O’Connor said “vitriol toward his restaurant was so intense it was closed until further notice,” reported The Hill.

Over 18,000 people have donated to a GoFundMe page set up by The Blaze’s Dana Loesch and Lawrence Jones “to relieve the financial loss endured by the proprietors’ stand for faith.”

The page originally intended to raise $25,000, but it exceeded that goal within hours

Estimates on the cost of opening a pizzeria vary, ranging between $200,000 to $800,000.
