Illegal Alien Charged In the Shooting Death of a 28-Year-Old Oklahoma Mother

An illegal alien has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of an Oklahoma woman this past week, though you wouldn’t necessarily know that from the (lack of) national news headlines.

Just a few weeks after police arrested an illegal alien for stabbing a woman to death in her San Jose, California home, Paige Gomer, a 28-year old mother, was shot to death in Canadian County, Oklahoma thanks to the same failed immigration enforcement policies. Police say the suspect is a 33-year-old illegal alien from Mexico named Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros, who’s apparently admitted to the crime.

Gomer was shot and killed while riding in a car on March 21. According to News9, witnesses who were in the car with her say Ontiveros was waiting for them on the road ambush-style, saying he opened fire into the back windshield of their car with an AR-15.Police said they caught him as he was trying to flee the area about an hour later.

The witnesses, who told police that they knew Ontiveros before the incident, said that a guy named German Zamarripa was driving the car, adding that Ontiveros was allegedly mad at Zamarripa “due to some insults German made about Ontiveros' wife."

Police say they’re trying to figure out how the shooting happened in the first place, considering Ontiveros shouldn’t have even been in the country.

“While we obtained an arrest warrant for a murder charge against Ontiveros, we are still actively involved in this investigation where an American citizen died at the hands of an illegal alien in Canadian County,” said Canadian County Sheriff Chris West.

Ontiveros has been jailed without bond for first-degree murder and placed under an ICE detainer for being in the country illegally. NewsOn6 reports police have also arrested a second suspect, but that no other details are known.

Gomer leaves behind a daughter.
