ICE Has Rounded Up 41,000 Criminal Aliens Since Trump Took Office

Newly-emboldened immigration officers working under the Trump administration have rounded up more than 41,000 illegal aliens in less than five months, including more than 230 criminal aliens caught in just the past week. And, rightfully so, they’re bragging about it.

In one operation conducted June 5-9, immigration officers managed to find and arrest 113 illegal aliens with criminal records living in New Jersey. Their collective rap sheet included all kinds of vile offenses, including child abuse, sexual assault, drugs, theft, domestic violence and aggravated assault.

Around the same time, ICE agents in California caught another 54 illegal aliens, 83 percent of which had criminal records in the United States. These fine folks had committed a range of offenses including cruelty to a child, burglary, weapons and drug offenses and a slew of DUIs.

One guy, a Salvadorian man with a final order of removal, had previously been convicted of felony child abuse and spousal battery, ICE reported.

Another 70 illegal aliens (62 of which were from Mexico) were nabbed in a three-day sting operation in parts of Texas and Oklahoma, including a 28-year old gang member/drug dealer and a 27-year-old guy convicted of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Now that immigration agents have been freed up to do their jobs, they’ve managed to find and apprehend more than 41,000 illegal aliens in the four and a half months since President Donald Trump first took office – an increase of about 40 percent over the same time frame last year, ICE explained.

Since President Trump signed the Executive Orders (EOs) regarding immigration enforcement priorities, ICE has arrested more than 41,000 individuals nationwide who are either known or suspected of being in the country illegally, a nearly 40 percent increase over the same period in 2016. Almost 75 percent of those arrested during this period in 2017 are convicted criminals, with offenses ranging from homicide and assault to sexual abuse and drug-related charges.

ICE reported all of the arrestees are being held pending immigration proceedings.
