During a month-long immigration sweep across much of the Midwest, immigration officials managed to round up 364 illegal aliens living in the country unlawfully – including a slew of criminals convicted of things like attempted murder and rape.

According to this, ICE arrested 364 criminal aliens and immigration violators across six Midwest states during one 30-day operation, which concluded last Friday.

While those arrested hailed from a grand total of 25 countries, the vast majority – 236, in fact – were from Mexico. Their various crimes included – deep breath --  assault, attempted murder, burglary, child neglect, child sexual exploitation, domestic violence, driving under the influence, drug possession, drug trafficking, fraud, hit and run, identity theft, illegal re-entry after deportation, indecent liberty with a minor, money laundering, obstructing justice, obstructing police, perjury prostitution, rape, sexual assault, theft, trespassing, and weapon offenses.

Arrests included a 46-year-old Mexican man in Illinois who’d been convicted of felony attempted murder. Another is an 18-year-old Honduran man arrested in Indianapolis who’s wanted in Louisiana on child rape charges.

A 37-year-old Mexican man was picked in in Bardstown, Kentucky after re-entering the country illegally after being convicted of felony rape and deported. ICE also nabbed a 26-year-old Guatemalan man who’d been arrested for peddling child porn.

All of these were arrested in what ICE calls the “ICE Chicago area of responsibility.”
