‘I Am a Young, Vibrant Man’: Trump Says 2020 Competition Making Him Look ‘Very Young’

President Trump is feeling extra “young” and “vibrant” in the face of his Democratic competition for the presidency come 2020.

Trump before departing for the annual National Rifle Association conference in Indianapolis Friday morning told reporters on the White House south lawn that the 2020 Democratic field is making him “look very young, both in terms of age, and I think in terms of energy.”

"I'm so young. I can’t believe it,” said Trump. “I am a young, vibrant man.”

“I look at Joe. I don’t know about him,” he said, smiling. “I don’t know."

“They’re making me look very young, both in terms of age, and I think in terms of energy,” Trump went on. “I think these people know that better than anybody.”

While Trump is younger than leading Democratic contenders Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 77, and former Vice President Joe Biden, 76, there are younger candidates such as California Sen. Kamala Harris, 54, Beto O’Rourke, 46, and Pete Buttigieg, 37, who would be the youngest president, ever, if elected.

The President doesn’t seem to be phased, however, continuing to welcome his competition to the race.
