Following reports that President Trump may deliver his acceptable speech from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania should he be elected for a second term in November, the media and others on the left are now accusing President Trump of showing his alleged support for “white supremacy” by considering the famous Civil War battleground site for the event.

Over on CNN, Jeremy Diamond linked Trump’s choosing Gettysburg for the potential speech with his alleged love for the Confederacy.

"This is a President who has consistently positions himself as a defender of Confederate symbols and monuments to Confederate generals,” Diamond said.

Actor/producer/otherwise nobody Rob Reiner accused Trump of “celebrating his devotion to white supremacy” by picking Gettysburg. “Trump brilliantly narrows down the location of his acceptance speech. Either break yet another law and do it at the WH, or do it at Gettysburg and celebrate your devotion to White Supremacy,” Reiner ranted on Twitter.

Because, as we all know, Gettysburg is the well-known historical site of a Confederate victory over the Union Army back during the Civil War…

…oh wait.

For those who skipped history class, Gettysburg was the site of a massive Confederate loss, one that ultimately turned the tide of the war in favor of the Union. The site would, therefore, hold no appeal to someone wanting to harken back to the good ol' Glory Days of the Confederacy, or slavery, or bigotry, or any of the other vile things the left attempts to pin on the president.

But, as always, one must never let facts get in the way of the narrative.
