HOT MIC: #ThatAwkwardMoment When Warren Accuses Sanders Of Calling Her a Liar On National TV

4.7k views

After a day of digging (if you buy that), CNN finally unearthed audio of that awkward exchange between Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders during Wendesday night’s Democratic presidential debate, during which Warren, who could be seen appearing to confront Sanders before the event, can now be heard accusing him of calling her a liar on national TV.

"I think you called me a liar on national TV," Warren began.

"What?" Sanders responded.

"I think you called me a liar on national TV," Warren repeated.

"You know, let's not do it right now. If you want to have that discussion, we'll have that discussion," Sanders said.

"Anytime," Warren answered.

"You called me a liar," Sanders went on, momentarily ignoring his own advice. "You told me -- all right, let's not do it now."

The exchange was interrupted by fellow candidate Tom Steyer, who awkwardly inserted himself between the two in order to shake Bernie’s hand.

“I don't want to get in the middle. I just want to say hi Bernie."

“Alright, good,” Sanders shot back.

The brief altercation came just a couple days after Warren claimed Sanders told her during a private meeting in 2018 that a woman could not win the presidency, a claim Sanders has vehemently denied.
