During the CNN Democratic Presidential Town Hall Wednesday night, thousands took to Twitter to criticize Hillary Clinton for not being "progressive" enough.

Using the hashtag #HillarySoProgressive, Twitter users accused Clinton of being inauthentic, noting her history of shifting on issues according to the sway of public opinion, how she accepted donations from the wolves on Wall Street, and how she and her husband Bill charged thousands of dollars for speaking events at colleges while preaching against the rising costs of higher education.

The list goes on.

Few came to her defense:

While campaigning in Keene, N.H. on Tuesday, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was asked by a reporter whether he believes Clinton is a “true progressive." He responded that the former secretary of state is a progressive “some days.”

“Some days, yes. Except when she announces that she is a proud moderate, and then I guess she is not a progressive,” said Sanders.

“I think, frankly, it is hard to be a real progressive and to take on the establishment in a way that I think has to be taken on, when you come as dependent as she has through her super PAC and in other ways on Wall Street and drug-company money,” he continued.

When asked by CNN Democratic Town Hall host Anderson Cooper Wednesday night to respond to Sanders’ remarks, Clinton replied, “Well, you know, I’m a progressive who likes to get things done.”

“I was somewhat amused today that Sen. Sanders has set himself up to be the gatekeeper of who’s a progressive,” she went on.
