In a rare public appearance on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton shared that she considers herself “part of the resistance.”
While being interviewed on stage at a Women for Women International event, instead of taking full responsibility for her loss in the general election, Clinton cast blame every which way.
She said that FBI Director James Comey’s letter to Congress about then-newly discovered emails just days before the election and leaked campaign communications via Wikileaks both “scared off” voters.
"The reason I believe we lost were the intervening events in the last 10 days," said Clinton.
“I was on the way to winning until the combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28th and Russian Wikileaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me but got scared off,” she said.
The former secretary of state also said that she believes “misogyny played a role,” no doubt referring to her former rival President Trump.
Clinton later added that now the election is over, she is "back" to being "part of the resistance."
“I can’t be anything other than who I am,” said the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee. “I’ve spent decades learning what it would take to move our country forward, including people who, you know, clearly didn’t vote for me.”
“I’m now back to being an activist citizen and part of the resistance,” said Clinton, drawing roaring applause from the audience.
