Hillary Clinton appears a little shaken up in light of Jeff Sessions’ recent congressional testimony during which he entertained the idea of ordering a second special counsel to investigate alleged wrongdoing by the Clinton Foundation.
In an interview with Mother Jones Clinton said that any move to order a special council against the Clinton Foundation would be “such an abuse of power.”
“It’s personally offensive that they would do this,” she added.
When asked by Mother Jones senior reporter, Ari Berman, how concerned she was about a special council investigation, Clinton shared that she was only concerned about America’s justice system:
I’m not concerned, because I know that there’s no basis to it. I regret if they do it, because it will be such a disastrous step into politicizing the Justice System. And at the end of the day, nothing will come of it, but it will cause a lot of terrible consequences that we might live with for a really long time.
Fox News reported that allegations of the Clinton Foundation’s connection with the Uranium One scandal first appeared in a book by conservative author Peter Schweizer.
One of the more shocking allegations was that Clinton Foundation co-founder, Bill Clinton, received $500,000 for a speech he made in Moscow at the time of the deal, paid for by a Russian company promoting Uranium One stocks.
