Hillary Blasts Trump, Bush for 'Stuff Happens' Response to Oregon Shooting

Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton spoke about gun control at a town hall meeting in Manchester, N.H. on Monday.

During her remarks, she pinned the Oregon shooting at Umpqua Community College last week on Republicans, saying "their thoughts and prayers” are “not enough.”

“This epidemic of gun violence knows no boundaries – knows no limits of any kind,” said Clinton.

“And when this happens, people are quick to say that they offer their thoughts and prayers. That’s not enough.”

“How many people have to die before we actually act?” the Democratic presidential candidate continued. “Before we come together as a nation?”

She then criticized Republicans like Donald Trump and former Florida governor Jeb Bush for allegedly shrugging off the massacre on a U.S. college campus with the mantra, “stuff happens.”

“You know -- on the Republican side, Mr. Trump was asked about it and said, you know, things, that happened in the world, and Governor Bush said, yeah, stuff happens," said Clinton. "No, that’s an admission of defeat and surrender to a problem that is killing 33,000 Americans."

She provides no further context for their remarks.

Mrs. Clinton went on to tell attendees at Manchester Community College that, if elected, she would implement universal background checks and bring an end to both gun show and online sale loopholes.

She also made sure to plug how she wants community college to be as “inexpensive" as possible.
