Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers believes that his native state of California is “going to s**t” thanks to the poor leadership of The Golden State’s elected officials.

On an episode of the Club Random podcast hosted by Bill Maher, Rodgers said that he is frustrated by what has happened to his home state, especially in his home town of Chico. Thanks to the totalitarian COVID mandates California enforced, numerous people lost their jobs or businesses and countless personal freedoms, a reality not lost on Rodgers

“I grew up in a small town, very little cases up in Chico, California, but all the small businesses? F***ing gone,” he said

Rodgers also highlighted his displeasure with AB 2098, a bill that is going to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk soon that would discipline physicians for spreading COVID misinformation if that passed. When Maher brought up the piece of legislation to Rodgers in the interview, the quarterback asked, "based on whose standard of misinformation?"

The quarterback has made himself well known for going against the grain when it comes to effectively combat and treat the virus, so it would make sense that the possibility of this legislation being passed would be important to him.

Unfortunately for Rodgers, it’s not just his home state that is in rough shape. The Packers’ offense got off to a horrific start in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, putting up just one touchdown in a 23-7 loss to their division rivals. At least Rodgers has some say in how to turn the fortunes of his team around.
