Health Care What? What Health Care Decision?

Here is a sobering reality for those of us who watch the daily news cycle  or the political machination regularly:

Nearly half of Americans, a staggering 45 percent, do not know how the United States Supreme Court ruled on healthcare, the most highly publicized Supreme Court case since Bush vs. Gore in 2000 and the landmark legislative accomplishment of Obama’s first term in office, according to the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.

Sixty three percent of 18-29 year olds, the primary demographic on which President Obama's 2008 victory was built, don't know what the court had done in regards the health care law or were mistaken about what happened. Forty three percent didn’t know anything about the court ruling, and the other 20 percent thought the court had rejected most of the provisions of the law.

Assuming that electorate is paying close attention, or any attention at all,  to the political arena, even regarding an issue as high profile as the court ruling on health care is a big mistake. They aren’t.

Obviously most people, especially unaffiliated or independent voters, are relatively uniformed, don’t have all the facts on an issue and don’t really care to find them out.
