Harry Reid Compares GOP Budget to Devastating Nepal Earthquake

During his remarks on the Senate Floor today, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (R-Nev.) had the audacity to compare the GOP budget to the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Nepal that left more than five thousand people dead, and more than nine thousand injured.

“The budget is just wrong,” said Reid. “It’s also dishonest. It claims to be balanced.”

“There is no balance in this budget,” he continued. "That's a word."

“The budget is no more balanced than the earthquakes they’ve had in Nepal,” said Reid.

He follows up by calling the claim "laughable."

A ridiculous analogy? Not for the notoriously unabashed Nevada senator, it isn’t.

Incredibly enough, that statement was not in the transcript prepared for Reid’s remarks. He took the liberty of adding the analogy on the spot.
