Finally! "National Underwear Day" is here!
Since 2003, August 5th has been deemed National Underwear Day, so if you were thinking about going commando today, forget it!
The celebration of undergarments of all kids was founded by, wait for it......an underwear company and in recent years has been used as an excuse for exhibitionists and weirdos alike to strip down to their skivvies and granny panties and march through the streets of major cities.
In 2013, underwear-clad individuals filled Times Square in an effort to break the record of having the largest outdoor gathering of people in their underwear. Unfortunately, the attempt failed to break the record of 2,270 as only 779 people showed up for the effort.
Truly, a sad day for our nation.
Of course, one could argue that since thousands of people wear underwear on a daily basis, that EVERYDAY is National Underwear Day and that the record for the most people wearing underwear in a given area is still unknown.
Am I celebrating today? You'll never know!
