Fox News is reporting that Hunter Biden will plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors and a felony gun charge.

The decision was handed down by the U.S. Attorney General for Delaware, David Weiss, at the
conclusion of an investigation that began in 2018 in response to suspicious activity reports
(SARs) connecting Biden’s finances and foreign nations, including China.

According to reporting by NBC News, Weiss has agreed to recommend probation for Biden for
his tax charges and the gun charge will be subject to a pretrial diversion agreement. In such an
agreement, charges are dropped if the defendant meets certain conditions, though the specific
conditions for Biden’s case were not disclosed in the documents.

In 2019, the FBI subpoenaed a laptop and hard drive that apparently belonged to Biden in
connection to a money-laundering investigation.

In 2021, Fox News reported on a 2018 incident in which a gun owned by Hunter Biden was thrown away in Delaware. This eventually lead to allegations that Biden had lied when purchasing the gun. On the firearm transaction report, Biden claimed that he was not “an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance.” In 2014, though, Biden was discharged from the Navy after testing positive for cocaine.

The White House issued a statement this morning addressing the charges, saying “the President
and First Lady love their son and support him as he continues to rebuild his life.”

Many feel Hunter Biden is being treated with kid gloves.

Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, criticized the plea agreement, vowing to continue his panel’s probe of Hunter’s business dealings and an alleged bribery scheme involving Joe Biden.

“Let’s be clear: the Department of Justice’s charges against President Biden’s son Hunter reveal a two-tiered system of justice,” Comer said in a statement.

“Hunter Biden is getting away with a slap on the wrist when growing evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee reveals the Bidens engaged in a pattern of corruption, influence peddling, and possibly bribery,” Comer said.

Comer calls this a "sweetheart plea deal" but adds this will have no impact on the Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Bidens.
