Green Party Candidate Accuses 'Goldwater Girl' Clinton of 'Cognitive Dissonance'

Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton recently resurrected the 1964 “Confessions of a Republican” advertisement, in which a self-professed “lifelong Republican” tells how he simply can’t vote for Goldwater because he's too radical. In an updated version, Clinton has the same actor (allegedly portraying the average Republican) in an almost identical ad. The ad attempts to implicate Trump as a radical who average Republicans cannot support.

The reactions to the ad have been mixed and varied, but one standout is that of Jill Stein, the Green Party presidential candidate. She took to Twitter to blast Hillary on Monday:

Stein is right about Goldwater. Clinton stated in her book, “Living History," that she “liked Senator Goldwater because he was a rugged individualist who swam against the political tide.” As for cognitive dissonance? Who knows.
