During a medical emergency at an Alabama high school commencement Thursday evening, a graduating student stepped forward and did what he hoped would bring some calm to a troubling situation:

He led the crowd in prayer.

As emergency personnel tended to a woman in the audience who suffered a seizure, Christian Crawford approached the podium and offered up a powerful, heartfelt petition for the afflicted woman’s swift recovery.

“We don’t know what’s going on…” he began. “But we will pray.”

“We know that prayer’s power, and that God is able,” Crawford said.

"We pray right now that whatever is going on, you will fix it, God. We pray that you will heal it, God. We pray that you will redeem it, God. We pray that you will deliver it, God."

"Because we know that you are a God who knows how to make a way,” Crawford said.

“And in the name of Jesus, we declare and decree in the name of Jesus that whatever is going on shall be fixed, because you are a God who is a fixer. You are a God who is a healer."

“Fix it Jesus,” he pled. “In Jesus name, Amen.”

Immediately following Crawford’s impromptu prayer, the Clay-Chalkville High School stadium full of graduating students, their friends and family, erupted in applause.
