George W. Bush Gives The Green Light For Jeb Bush Presidential Run

Former President George W. Bush is pretty confident that his brother Jeb will take the nomination in 2016.

In an interview with Bob Schieffer on CBS's "Face the Nation" Sunday evening, George W. Bush said that there's a "50-50 chance" his brother will seek the presidency in 2016.

"It's a lot of speculation about him. I occasionally fuel the speculation by saying that I hope he runs," Bush said. "I think it's 50-50. He and I are very close. On the other hand, he's not here knocking on my door, you know, agonizing about the decision. He knows exactly -- you know, the ramifications on family, for example. He's seen his dad and his brother go through the presidency."

While Gov. Jeb Bush is still considering the impact a presidential run would have on his family, former President Bush wants Jeb to be assured that he has all of the Bush family's support behind him.

In fact, he's so confident that he'll run that in an appearance on The Daily Rundown with Chuck Todd this morning, he jokingly said that Gov. Bush's knowledge of Spanish can well surpass his 50-word vocabulary.

This man has got a vision and can articulate it. He’s good, really good. And he also — he can give a speech, complete speech, in Spanish, that — you know, my vocabulary is about 50 words. And he’s not afraid of the competition should he decide to run.”
