A watchdog report surfaced on Thursday revealing how it took over a year for the Secret Service to replace a broken alarm system in George H.W. Bush’s Houston, Texas home.

After the news spread like wildfire across broadcast and online media outlets, the former U.S. President took to Twitter and offered the classiest response imaginable:

“Barbara and I have great respect for, and confidence in, the men and women of @SecretService. That respect and confidence has never waned.”

Yet another security failure by the Secret Service, this report adds to the list of flubs seen in recent years. Mr. and Mrs. Bush certainly cut the Secret Service some slack with this one.
