A judge in Milwaukee who advocated exposing young children to drag queens was arrested on Tuesday for possessing child pornography.

According to the Daily Signal, Brett Blomme “was charged Wednesday with seven counts of possession of child pornography showing abuse of young boys, the publication reported, noting that each count carries a minimum of three years in prison and a maximum sentence of 15, plus 10 years of supervised release.”

The pornography found in Blomme's possession included images and videos showing the sexual abuse of children. Blomme’s two adopted children, who were taken into custody by Child Protective Services, were not included in the material.

Blomme, who's also openly gay, was the former president and CEO of Cream City Foundation, which was a fiscal sponsor of Drag Queen Story Hours (DQSH), a practice involving “drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores,” according to the DQSH website.

“DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models,” the website stated. “In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.”

They have chapters across America and Mexico, with groups located in Japan, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany.

However, the group has sought to distance themselves from Blomme since his arrest.

“As the leaders of DQSH Milwaukee & DQSH National, we absolutely condemn pedophilia,” they said in a statement. “We are angry and outraged by Brett’s actions. Pedophilia has no place in the LGBT community and no place in society as a whole.”

Blomme’s preliminary hearing begins on May 29.
