According to a recent Gallup poll, President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran has had little to no impact on Americans’ dismal views of the world’s foremost sponsor of terror.

“Iran's long-standing negative image in the U.S. remains unchanged, even as the deal designed to limit Iran's nuclear program has come into effect," Gallup reports. "Fourteen percent of Americans say they have a favorable view of Iran, essentially unchanged from a 2015 poll conducted before the nuclear deal was finalized but just a hair above the 11% average favorable rating the country has received over Gallup's 27-year trend.”

People across the political spectrum view Iran and the nuclear deal unfavorably. Without surprise, Republicans express the strongest disapproval.

A Gallup poll conducted early February showed that 80 percent of Republicans disapprove the Iran nuclear agreement, compared to 53 percent of Independents and 38 percent of Democrats.

The majority of Americans (57 percent) disapprove of such an agreement with a country that continues to showcase its hostility toward the U.S. and its ideals.

Iran just last month held 10 U.S. Navy sailors hostage and aired a video on Iranian state television of them apologizing for crossing into Iranian territorial waters.
