Free Speech Enemies: Kevin McAleenan Leaves Stage After Being Shouted Down Repeatedly by 'Pro-Immigration Protesters'

In the last few years, I have yet to see a protest end in anything productive to what they’re protesting. The only thing these protests, which are well within their right as Americans to do, ever accomplish are showing that they’re appear to be against free speech and will even resort to violence given the chance, but only if the numbers are in their favor.

Yet another “productive” protest happened at Georgetown University’s law school in Washington D.C. on Monday.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan was just about to begin speaking at an annual conference held at the law school when “pro-immigration protesters” jumped out of their seats, held up a sign and began nonsensically chanting that they were there to “stand up, fight back” for people illegally in this country.

“When immigrants are under attack, what do we do?” the protesters self-righteously began chanting. “Stand up, fight back!”

After repeated attempts by hosts of the event and McAleenan himself to try and calm the protesters so that the he could make his remarks and then open up for a dialogue, the acting secretary had no other choice than to leave the stage and the event.

Take a look:

Breitbart reported on who was involved in the protest:

While McAleenan attempted to speak, open borders protesters with Sanctuary DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV), CREDO Mobile, La ColectiVA, and Justice for Muslim Collectives stormed to the front of the stage, shouting “When immigrants are under attack, what do we do? Stand up fight back!” and carrying a sign reading, “Hate is not normal.”

Sanctuary DMV activists claimed responsibility for the disruption, writing online, “we denied DHS Acting Secretary McAleenan the opportunity to justify the unjustifiable to an audience of DC immigration wonks & lawyers” and demanding the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency be abolished.

If you ask me, the event hosts and McAleenan showed incredible patience and calm in trying to deal with the irrational protesters.

Here’s what I’ll never understand. The protesters are demonstrating so that illegal immigrants can continue to break the law. They do so, because they say that everyone in the world isn’t illegal and should simply be given the “American dream.” However, these protesters are the same people who bash the country every chance they get for whichever reason they choose this week.

Here’s my questions concerning this phenomena. If the U.S. is so incredibly bad and evil, why would you a) choose to live here yourself, and b) want other “less fortunate” people to live in such a horrible place?

I don’t blame McAleenan one bit for leaving. Petulant children, because let’s be real about who these protesters typically act like, should be treated like petulant children. You want to complain and complain about the dinner your parents worked to put on the table? Then, maybe, you go to bed without dinner. Sadly, young protesters like these grew up in a society where parents give their kids all the options in the world until the child is happy.

That’s how you continually get protesters who have no interest in anything anyone who thinks differently has to say.

Maybe these protesters need something akin to a “timeout.”
