Fox's Pirro: DHS Sec. Mayorkas Turns Away Cuban Refugees Because They'll 'Probably Vote Republican'

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas plans to turn away those fleeing from Communist Cuba, which Fox News “The Five” co-host Judge Jeanine Pirro suggested is because many would vote Republican.

Amid protests against the Cuban communist regime, Mayorkas sent a message to refugees fleeing Cuba and Haiti by sea not to come to the United States.

“Allow me to be clear,” Mayorkas said on Tuesday, Fox News reported. “If you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States.”

Pirro contrasted Mayorkas’ take on Cuban refugees fleeing communism with the Biden administration’s approach to the illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border.

"For [Mayorkas] to say if you take to sea you will not come to the U.S.,” Pirro said, according to Fox News, “so we are going to open the southern border … but when you are a victim of a totalitarian government or Communist regime that is shooting people and arresting journalists… we are going to make sure you don't make it to America, because you truly have a true argument for political asylum."

Pirro also suggested that the motivation for the administration’s inconsistency on who they accept enter the country is purely political.

“…they know if they come from Cuba they will probably vote Republican, so they’ve got to stop them from coming in,” she noted.

Pirro’s “The Five” co-host Jesse Watters echoed Pirro’s assertion on the political motivation behind turning away Cuban refugees.

“The White House is basically saying, ‘if you’re going to vote Democrat you can come here illegally but if you’re going to vote Republican don’t come because we do know that Cuban-Americans overwhelmingly vote Republican especially in a swing state of Florida,’” said Waters.

Mayorkas and the Biden administration’s unwillingness to accept Cuban refugees fleeing communism while simultaneously permitting mass migration from Mexico is — as Pirro best described — “an outrage.”
