According to a new report by Fox News, U.S. officials have confirmed that a "full-scale investigation" is being conducted as to whether the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, "escaped" from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

Fox News reported:

Intelligence operatives are said to be gathering information about the laboratory and the initial outbreak of the virus. Intelligence analysts are piecing together a timeline of what the government knew and “creating an accurate picture of what happened,” the sources said.

Once that investigation is complete -- something that is expected to happen in the near-term -- the findings will be presented to the Trump administration. At that point White House policymakers and President Trump will use the findings to determine how to hold the country accountable for the pandemic.

It's been widely talked about that COVID-19 originated in Wuhan in one way or another since the beginning of the virus becoming something that entered all of our consciousness. Some have said that it originated from the wet markets in the area, while others have firmly believed that the virus got loose from a Wuhan biolab where testing on animals is conducted.

Whatever the case may be, U.S. officials appear to be on the case. Whether we actually find out what truly happened concerning the virus and where it exactly came from is another story.
