(UPDATE 2/20/18 7:00PM - Smollett officially considered suspect in case, click here.)

While the Chicago Police Department (CPD) continues to drag its feet on giving the public a definitive answer as to whether or not "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was actually telling some form of the truth in his assertion that he was attacked as part of a "racist" and "homophobic" attack, as he alleges, or if Smollett set up the whole attack up to further some sort of cause, as other allegations claim.

Well, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment released a statement on Wednesday that doesn't seem to take into account either side of allegations for or against Smollett.

"Jussie Smollett continues to be a consummate professional on set and as we have previously stated," the statement read, according to Variety, "he is not being written out of the show."

Smollett originally claimed that he was "brutally attacked by 2 men who beat him up, put his head in a noose and screamed, "This is MAGA country," on January 29th, as the original TMZ article of the story reported.

Last weekend, CNN published an article that claimed "police sources" say that Smollett may have orchestrated the entire attack on himself.

Whatever the case may be, Fox seems to be sticking by Smollett for now.
