Former Mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford, Dead at 46

Former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford died on Tuesday after losing his battle with cancer. Ford had a rare and aggressive cancer called pleomorphic liposarcoma. He was 46.

Ford was made internationally famous for his unconventional tactics during his time in office. Oh, and there was that video of him supposedly smoking crack…and the time he attended a military ball intoxicated.

As reported by the Toronto Star, Ford vehemently denied his drug and alcohol abuse. When he eventually admitted his problems, the Toronto Council stripped him of most of his powers as mayor.

Ford went to rehab and got clean, but then he had to deal with chemotherapy because of the cancer.

Ford went on record in late 2014:

“People know that I saved a lot of money, and people are going to know that I had a few personal struggles. So you can remember it for what you want, but they’re definitely going to remember it.”

Whatever you remember Rob Ford for, there will always be this…
