Former College Professor Says Viral Bernie Sanders Meme ‘Embodies White Privilege’

Joe Biden’s inauguration was a miserable affair for most conservatives, but at least humor came out of it in the form of a Bernie Sanders meme. However, leftists are once again being the killjoys they usually are, and are condemning the same meme.

The now-viral picture of an old, white-haired, bespectacled man sitting in the freezing cold and muffled in a short coat and mittens somehow “embodies ‘white privilege, male privilege and class privilege" - or at least, so says former UC Berkeley and Mills College professor and ex-Oakland Unified School District principal Ingrid Seyer-Ochi, who, according to the Blaze, looked at Sanders’s image and saw “a wealthy, incredibly well-educated and -privileged white man, showing up for perhaps the most important ritual of the decade, in a puffy jacket and huge mittens.”

And what’s wrong with education, or protecting yourself from the cold? It seems that Seyer-Ochi felt that Sanders was flaunting the respect automatically given to educated white men by appearing too casually dressed at an important occasion.

"I don't know many poor, or working class, or female, or struggling-to-be-taken-seriously folk who would show up at the inauguration of our 46th president dressed like Bernie,” she asserted. “Unless those same folk had privilege. Which they don't."

In conclusion, Seyer-Ochi believes that “Sen. Sanders is no white supremacist insurrectionist. But he manifests privilege, white privilege, male privilege and class privilege, in ways that my students could see and feel.”

You’d think opponents of white privilege would be happy to see Joe Biden in office. After all, he’s such a supporter of racial minorities. He’s even planned to help open the small businesses of minorities first before he offers aid to white ones! But no, Seyer-Ochi had to focus on the negative and write a whole op-ed about Sanders flaunting of “privilege.” Because leftists always have to be the killjoy and look for the fly in the ointment.

“I am beyond puzzled as to why so many are loving the images of Bernie and his gloves," she further complained.

Well, this may shock Seyer-Ochi, but some people do try to enjoy life. Not everybody wants to be a social justice warrior and spend their lives searching for people to denounce for their supposed privilege.
