Black Lives Matter protesters set fire to a car dealership that quickly spread to a nearby church whose marquee had read “Black Lives Matter” before it was engulfed in flames Sunday night.

The latest rash of protests-turned-riots were sparked when police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, reportedly shot 29-year-old Jacob Blake in the back as he was getting into a car with his three sons. Police have no yet commented on what led to the shooting, which landed Blake in the hospital in serious condition. Blake’s family’s lawyer, however, claims witnesses said Blake was trying to break up a fight between two women when police arrived. It’s not yet clear why police wound up firing it him.

The incident kicked off another night of violence and mayhem, during which multiple buildings were vandalized, looted and burned, and one police officer was reportedly hit with a brick.

At one point, a group of rioters set fire to a car dealership located a few blocks from the courthouse. The blaze burned through the cars in the lot before threatening the Bradford Community Church, which is Universal Unitarian, next door.

The fire was eventually extinguished before it reached the building itself.
