Fiorina: Politicians Aren’t ‘Bad People,’ But Not Willing to 'Challenge the Status Quo'

The non-politicians or so-called “outsiders” Carly Fiorina, Donald Trump, and Dr. Ben Carson have received the majority of attention thus far in the race for the GOP nomination.

During Wednesday night’s CNN Republican presidential primary debate, Fiorina said that politicians are not “bad people,” but it’s time for change.

“If someone’s been in a system their whole life, they don’t know how broken the system is,” she said.

“It’s not that politicians are bad people,” said Fiorina “It’s that they’ve been in that system forever.”

She argued that politicians have become complacent with winning in the current system rather than challenging the "status quo."

"You know what a leader does? They challenge the status quo, they solve problems that have festered for a long time, and they produce results," said Fiorina.

“People know this is about far more than replacing a ‘D’ with an ‘R.' This is about changing the system.”
