Following the short-lived partnership between Spotify and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Spotify’s head of podcast innovation and monetization Bill Simmons let everyone know how he feels about the royal couple.

“I wish I had been involved in the ‘Megan and Harry leave Spotify’ negotiation. ‘The F***ing Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we shoulda launched with them," Simmons said after news broke that Spotify had discontinued Markle’s show, “Archetypes."

“I gotta get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories,” he added.

Spotify declined to renew Markle’s show “Archetypes” – a podcast made to discuss the “labels that try to hold women back” – for a second season. In a joint statement by Spotify and Archwell Audio, the production company founded by the royal couple, the two businesses “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” as reported by the Wall Street Journal last Thursday.

This is not the first time the Spotify executive has complained about Prince Harry. When they worked for the same company in January 2023, Simmons said having Prince Harry on Spotify was “so embarrassing," as reported by Awful Announcing.

“Shoot this guy to the sun. I’m so tired of this guy. What does he bring to the table? He just whines about s*** and keeps giving interviews,” Simmons said at the time. “Who cares about your life? You weren’t even the favorite son.”

“I can’t stand him. So tired. I’m so embarrassed that I f***ing have to share Spotify with him. The guy sucks,” he continued.
