A feisty Rand Paul (R-Ky.) threw Democrats’ extreme position on abortion back in their faces today: “Why don’t we ask the DNC, is it okay to kill a 7 pound baby in the uterus?” Paul said in response to a question from an NH1 reporter, proving that he’s going to fight the media and Democrats' narrative.

The reporter asked the newly-announced presidential candidate: “Senator the DNC is picking up on your comments with the AP this morning on abortion and I just want to know, where do you stand on exemptions? Should there be any exemptions for abortion or not?”

The reporter's question refers to a 5 minute answer Paul gave to an AP reporter on abortion (of which the AP only published 2 minutes.) The DNC immediately responded to Paul's quote on the need to protect the unborn and the "sanctity of life" with this tweet:

Fresh from his pushback during an interview with Savannah Guthrie this morning, Paul responded to the reporter's question with a smile: “What’s the DNC say?”

The crowd, made up mostly of reporters and a few Paul supporters, laughed.

"I guess, you know, here’s the question. You know we always seem to have the debate waaaaaaaay over here on what are the exact details of exemptions, or when it starts," said Paul, motioning with his hands to the far left.

"Why don’t we ask the DNC: Is it okay to kill a seven-pound baby in the uterus? You go back and you ask Debbie Wasserman Schultz if she's OK with killing a seven-pound baby that is just not yet born.”

“Ask her when life begins, and you ask Debbie when she’s willing to protect life,” continued a feisty Paul. “When you get an answer from Debbie, get back to me."

On his Facebook page, Paul just wrote:

It barely took 24 hours after I announced my candidacy for President of the United States before the media began peppering me with gotcha questions that most "pro-life" politicians wilt under.
But instead of shrinking back – I called out pro-abortion Democrats for their extremism. After all, why doesn't the media ever ask them why they support horrific "procedures" like late-term abortion?
Because of my efforts, DNC Chairwoman and Hillary Clinton ally Debbie Wasserman Shultz was put on the spot. She said she wanted ZERO restrictions on abortion. "PERIOD. End of Story!"
I think this proves why we need a President who will stand up for the most vulnerable among us – the unborn.
And I will always fight to defend our pro-Life values and force Hillary Clinton and the rest of the Democrat Party to answer for their pro-abortion radicalism.

Chair of the DNC Wasserman Schultz has called a 2013 House of Representatives bill to ban late-term abortions “an extreme, unprecedented reach into women’s lives” even though the majority of Americans agree that late-term abortions should be illegal.
