Did FBI Know Steele Dossier Was Garbage? - Obama Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett Avoids Question

Former senior advisor to President Barack Obama Valerie Jarrett deflects Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo questions on the validity of the Steele Dossier and if the Obama administration spied on Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign

According to RealClearPolitics, Bartiromo pressed Jarrett on the “fake and garbage” Steele Dossier and the unmasking of General Michael Flynn during an Obama-era investigation.

“Do you believe if Jim Comey knew that the dossier was fake and garbage and he kept going, re-upping warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, that he should go to jail?” Bartiromo asked.

“I have a very high degree of confidence that our intelligence community, our investigators comported themselves responsibly,” Jarrett said, “I can’t tell you all of the reasons why Comey went forward with his investigation, maybe this was one piece of a bigger puzzle. But I do know that it’s nearly four years ago and I don’t understand why our focus isn’t on what’s happening right now.”

“That’s an investigation I’d like to see,” Jarrett added.

Bartiromo continued to ask about the dossier: “What’s happening right now is we are learning the details of what took place and we are getting official confirmation that the FBI knew that the dossier was garbage and made up in a bar because the sub-source of the dossier told FBI officials in early January.”

“I was not involved in any of those conversations, but the question I really want to ask you is what are we doing today,” Jarrett said, “If people want to have an investigation about what happened four years ago, they should do that.”

Jarrett continued, “Aren’t you worried about the integrity of our upcoming elections? Aren’t you worried about how we’re going to have a safe and fair election?”
