Democrat VP hopeful Tim Walz claimed that he was a “knucklehead” during a debate Tuesday night.
Walz was questioned about reports contradicting his claims that he was in Hong Kong for a teaching position in 1989 during the Tiananmen Square protests that ended with hundreds killed by the Chinese government.
Walz defended his previous claims by stating he was a “knucklehead” who “will talk a lot and get caught up in the rhetoric” BUT it’s really about the community he loves.
“I've not been perfect and I'm a knucklehead at times but it’s has been about that. Those same people elected me to Congress - for 12 years.”
Walz later added, “So my commitment has been from the beginning to make sure I'm there for the people and make sure I get this right. I will say more than anything - many times I will talk a lot and get caught up in the rhetoric but being there the impact it made and the difference it made in my life I learned a lot about China.”
