Biden-Harris administration Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo says she is not “very focused” on the dock worker strike.
After weeks of headline-grabbing coverage on the labor dispute, tens of thousands of U.S. dockworkers went on strike Tuesday morning, drastically slowing cargo at ports along the East and Gulf coasts and raising concern over possible spikes in consumer prices ahead of the holiday season.
Raimondo was asked about the possible strike during an appearance Monday on CNBC.
“Where have you been kind of focused - and hearing on what would happen if the strike goes, let’s say longer than a week?” Raimondo was asked.
“Again, I have not been very focused on that,” Raimondo replied.

Earlier in the interview Raimondo gave detailed insight that a strike “could be incredibly disruptive to commerce” because “so much commerce moves through the ports.”
Just not an issue worth being “very focused on.”
