Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT.) remains supportive of “squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY).
Sanders was quick to extinguish certain questions on Thursday, when asked whether he had any issues with Bowman after the lawmaker was censored for pulling a fire alarm bringing a stop to a Congressional vote.
“Look, I have differences with every member of the United States Congress. What is important is that we not allow billionaires and super PACs to buy elections,” Sanders said.
Bowman faces a challenge in the Democratic primary from George Latimer. The race has drawn record-breaking ad spending for a primary election, with reports of $23 million spent.
Of course ‘Our Revolution’, the PAC spun from Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, is supporting Bowman and has been actively raising money for him.
Sanders seems to show no alarm about his connection to the fundraising effort.
