Kentucky state senator Karen Berg has suggested providing "child sex dolls" to pedophiles gives them “a release” and reduces the chance of them abusing children.

Her statements came during a hearing last week on a measure designed to make it a felony to be in possession of a sex doll that is styled like a child.

Berg said she researched the issue the night before on Google and found “There are what they call MAPs – minor attracted persons.”

While avoiding the word “pedophiles,” Berg argued research shows sex dolls that look like minors can be helpful to MAPs.

“For people who are attracted to minors, that these dolls actually decrease their proclivity to go out and attack children, that it actually gives them a release that makes them less likely to go outside of their home,” Berg said in the video.

The social media backlash was quick and Berg went to X, clarifying her comments and actually (surprise) using the word “pedophilia.”

Berg noted in the end, she voted in favor of the measure criminalizing possession of child sex dolls. Despite her "clarification" many critics won't forget what she said, you can see some of the comments below.
