In the roughly four seconds it takes to pull one’s cell phone out of one’s pocket and fire up the Twitter app, anti-gun race-baiters over on the left were immediately jumping to condemn "white supremacy," anti-Asian “hate” and “assault rifles” while emergency crews were still on the scene in Monterey Park, California, where a gunman killed 10 and wounded another 10 in a shooting Saturday night during a Lunar New Year festival at a dance studio.

Noting that the area’s population is predominantly Asian, liberals obsessed with finding racism in every shadow were quite to blame “white supremacy” and “bigotry” for the mass shooting, well before a single detail was publicly known about the shooter – including his motive, or his own race.

“We must stand up to bigotry and hate wherever they rear their ugly heads, and we must keep working to stop gun violence,” tweeted New York Sen. Chuck Schumer.

Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff pointed to “bigotry toward AAPI individuals as a possible motive” without having any actual facts to back that up.

In a blast that ignored grammar rules in their entirety, Biden delegate Victor Shi demanded we “reform our nations broken gun laws & condemn anti-Asian hate in all its forms.”

Writer Alisha Grauso (she/her pronouns in bio) ranted, “F*** the NRA. F*** the right’s obsession with guns. F*** white supremacy.” Los Angeles City Councilman Bob Blumenfield called to “stop gun violence and condemn racist hatred towards any groups.”

New York Democrat and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries blamed “hatred and intolerance.”

Maryland’s newly inaugurated governor, Democrat Wes Moore, tweeted, “We must root out hate and ensure no one has to live in fear of violence due to ethnicity or faith.”

And, perhaps taking the proverbial cake with their assessment, the local CBS affiliate fingered the shooter's weapon as an "assault pistol" when the presumed AR-15 narrative fell apart.

As it turned out, however, the shooter was identified as a 72-year-old Asian man whose name isn’t worth mentioning - and whose race shouldn’t be either, except that leftists who love seizing every opportunity to scream “racism!” have decided to make it a thing.

It's also worth noting that the definitively non-white shooter killed himself in a standoff with police the day after the massacre at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio, which he reportedly carried out with the same handgun that was likely wrestled away from him by bystanders at another dance location about 20 minutes after the first shooting. That gun was a 9mm handgun – not an assault rifle, or a rifle of any kind.

Or an "assault pistol," for that matter.

Whoops.
