Donald Trump Once Had His Own Board Game

Before he was a reality game show host, Donald Trump dallied in the board game bushiness.

Trump's game, simply called “Trump: The Game,” was released in 1989. According to the experts at “Board Game Geeks” (I can only assume they’re “experts,” because who else besides a board game aficionado would create such a web site), "Trump: The Game" is pretty similar to “Monopoly.” Here's how the site describes the gameplay:

In the first part, players circle the board, feeding money into the eight available properties, then bidding on those properties (not being able to see how much the property is worth) and collecting Trump cards. When all the properties are gone, the negotiation phase begins. Players use their Trump cards to buy and sell properties.”

Okay, so it’s EXACTLY like Monopoly.

The game came in a black box with Trump’s name and likeness printed on the front. Printed at the top of the box is the game’s motto, “It’s not whether you win or lose, but whether you win!” Of course, this should be obvious to anyone who knows Trump, because if you don’t win you are by default a “total loser.”

The original version of the game was pulled from shelves, but a newer version of the same game was released  in 2004 after the success of Trump’s reality television show, “The Apprentice.”

This version of the game still featured Trump’s face and had his name etched on the box in YUGE gold-plated capital letters. However, the game’s motto was no longer,  “It’s not whether you win or lose, but whether you win!” but instead, “I’m Back and You’re Fired!”

Sadly, the game was discontinued by Hasbro. But the versions that are still in existence have become something of a collector's item. If you want to know what it’s like to live in the fast-paced, high-stakes world of Donald Trump, you can purchase a used copy of the game on Amazon for the low price of $45.00.

What a deal.
