Dog-Bot: Sign of an Impending Robot Takeover? Let's Hope Not.

The robotics company Boston Dynamics is calling its latest life-like creation "Spot," nearly 100 pounds lighter and apparently much faster than its older four-legged robot friend, "BigDog."

Like BigDog, Spot can navigate by itself and negotiate rough terrain. The dog-bot can also absorb shock and recycle that energy.

As seen in the video, even if you give it a good kick, Spot bounces right back.

“While Boston Dynamics released the video Tuesday, it hasn’t said what it or Google [it’s parent company] plans to do with the life-like robots,” Newsy reports.

Check out Spot below. The company's official YouTube page has a bunch of videos showcasing Spot, BigDog, and their other arguably terrifying technological creations.

Unsettling? We agree.
